Cut-Back

Cut-back is a method used for some spraying applications such as priming and bonding layers. For this purpose, bitumen is mixed with a controlled amount of petroleum distillates (e.g. kerosene or diesel oil) and its viscosity is reduced. This results in – It can be sprayed at a lower temperature than pure bitumen, – It can penetrate the aggregate layer more effectively. To support our customers with an easy and safe solution for the production of cut-back additives, we have designed a cut-back plant with a high production rate for the instant mixing of bitumen and petroleum derivatives. This means that the cut-back additive is produced and immediately loaded into the spray tank or carrier, eliminating the need to install a storage tank – eliminating the great danger of storing a product with flammable vapors. The plant can produce cutting additives with petroleum distillate percentages ranging from 5% to 50%. Production output ranges from 15 T/h to 50 T/h.
